Slow internet? How to fix it
Wi-Fi is convenient but often unstable.
For example, if you have a 50/50 Mbps connection, you only get this speed close to the router - and only via cable. With Wi-Fi, the speed drops quickly, especially if you move away from the router, for example to the terrace or another room. This can result in the internet "lagging" or freezing.
Drive4you's tests require stable internet.
Theory tests contain images, text and sound that must be executed accurately. If the test stops, it is often due to a slow internet speed. To avoid problems, your download speed should be at least 20 Mbps.
Check your speed
Click "System check" in the menu when you are logged in and take a speed test. If the speed is below 20 Mbps, try the following:
- Use your mobile data: Switch off Wi-Fi and use 4G or 5G, which are often faster than 20 Mbps.
- Hotspot: Use your mobile hotspot if your computer cannot be connected by cable.
- Antivirus: Antivirus programs can slow down the internet connection by scanning files and pages. Switch off the scan temporarily or exclude Drive4you's domain in the programme.
If you follow these tips, you'll have a better experience with the theory tests.
